One way you try to engage people with your wit and writing style so that they want to come back often and read more, kind of like they feel you are a friend they trust. While they are there they check out a product or service just because you recommend it. The other also set up on a blog platform, but just the facts about a product are presented. Let the product sell itself, you actually hope they click on your affiliate link instead of hanging around on your site. I have seen both ways work.
